How to Apply for the 2025-26 School Year:

1. Check Eligibility
Your child must be a Hawaii resident and:

Age 3 by 7/31/25 (born 8/1/21–7/31/22) or
-
Age 4 by 7/31/25 (born 8/1/20–7/31/21)
2. Download and Complete the Interest Form

3. Submit Interest Form by June 6 at 5:00 p.m.
Return the completed form by email info@waikikicommunitypreschool.org, mail or in person to the address below
4. Receive an Application Packet
Once we receive your Interest Form, we’ll send you an application packet for review. Do not submit the packet until you are officially notified of your child’s status.
5. Wait for Notification
We expect to officially notify families of their child's status about mid-June. A lottery may be held if there are more applicants than available spaces.
6. Optional Open House Want to see our school? Come to an Open House on May 31 or June 7 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.

Admission FAQs
Q: What happens after I submit the Interest Form?
You’ll receive an Application Packet. Begin gathering required documents, but do not submit the packet until you're officially notified of your child’s enrollment status.

Q: What documents will I need?
Review your packet carefully. Required documents include:

Birth certificate

Proof of income (2023 tax return or TANF/SNAP/homelessness verification)

DOE Student Enrollment Form

Form 14 and DHS 908 (physical exam, TB clearance, immunizations
Q: When will I be notified if my child is accepted?
We expect to officially notify families around mid-June.
Q: Why not sooner?
We must first complete a state contracting process. Until then, we are not legally authorized to enroll students.
Q: What’s the exact date for notification?
There is no fixed date due to the nature of the state contracting process, but mid-June is the estimated timeframe.
Q: How will I be notified?
By email (if provided), or by mail.
Q: What happens if my child is accepted?
Once you are officially notified that your child is accepted (about mid-June), you’ll have 3 business days from the notification date to return a complete application packet. If not submitted on time, the spot may go to another applicant.
Q: What if I miss the June 6 Interest Form deadline?
We’ll continue accepting Interest Forms first-come, first-served if space is available.
Q: Can I email the application packet?
Yes. Email to info@waikikicommunitypreschool.org or drop it off at the preschool office M–F, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM.
Q: Will there be a lottery?
If we receive more Interest Forms than available spots, a double-blind lottery will be conducted to ensure fairness.
